TriCounty Area Chamber hosting former Olympian at annual dinner

POTTSTOWN — Former U.S. Olympian Johnny Quinn will be the keynote speaker at the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner to be held on April 27. Quinn competed in the sport of bobsled at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. He has competed with team USA in Austria, Canada, Italy, Russia and Switzerland, and will speak about his experiences.

While reservations are still being accepted, time is running out to make a plans to attend the annual dinner. According to the chamber, the reservation window will close Wednesday afternoon, April 13.To make a reservation visit

The event will be a celebration of the chamber’s 95th anniversary, and will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at Rivercrest Golf Club and Preserve, 100 Rivercrest Drive, in Phoenixville.

The evening will include the presentation of the chamber’s awards. Baran Schultz, owner, Schultz Technology Solutions will be presented with the Chairman of the Board Award; Drew Griffin of Delicious Marketing will receive the Volunteer of the Year Award; and Montgomery County Community College will be presented with the Chamber Champion Awards. The Chamber Commitment Award will also be presented at the event, but the chamber is saving the identity of that recipient for that evening — a surprise recognition.

To commemorate the chamber’s anniversary, there will be a champagne toast — meant to celebrate the chamber’s members and their teams, the organization said, “and the impact you have had not only on their success but ours — helping us be here for 95 years!”

In an email to chamber membership Monday morning, Eileen Dautrich, president of the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce, said the event will offer “great food, great networking and relationship building, special surprises, recognition of all, door prize opportunity for all.” In addition, there will be a 50/50 contest — with chamber proceeds to benefit the Richard L. Graver FBLA Scholarship for Boyertown High School FBLA students.

In addition to competing in the 2014 Olympics in bobsled, Quinn is a former professional football player and motivational speaker. He is the author of “Push: Breaking Through the Barriers,” which tells his story about being cut three times, losing $2.6 million in NFL contracts, and being injured — but ultimately coming out on top as a U.S. Olympian.

The cost per member is $95; non-members $190; and $850 per member table of 10. Registration is required ahead of the event. To register, or for more information, visit
