TriCounty Area Chamber holds second REACH conference

The TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its second annual REACH Conference — a program that included four speakers and the presentation of several REACH awards.

REACH is a chamber program designed to bring together professional women from across the tri-county region to network and build relationships.  Formerly known as Women of the Workforce — or WOW — the program was rebranded as REACH in June 2019.

Keynote speaker for the Thursday, Nov. 3 networking event was Neen James, a professional speaker, consultant, author, and expert in paying attention. She spoke about driving profitability, productivity, and accountability by focusing attention. Her message to the 115 attendees included breaking activities into 15-minute sessions, to allow time to focus on the activities.

Joining the speaker line-up was Denise Nakano, midday anchor for KYW Newsradio, who shared her broadcast journalism story. Ginger Kunkel, president of Tompkins, shared her career journey and key lessons to get to the top, by applying for the next higher position. Kim Fraites-Dow, CEO of Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania, told of her career path from clarinetist to non-profit leader, and how the Girl Scout program is developing 40,000 youths to be future leaders.

Eileen Dautrich, president of the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce, presented several REACH awards — recognizing the recipients for “their dedication to the community, their careers, and their support of other women,” according to a press release.

Recognized at the event were:

• Amy Frizzle of Diamond Credit Union, as the 2022 Outstanding Young Professional

• Shelly Stockmal of The Victory Bank, as the 2022 Woman of Influence and Empowerment in Business

• Holly Parker of TriCounty Community Network Inc., as the 2022 Woman of Influence and Empowerment in Non-Profits

• Myra Forrest of Pottstown Area Health and Wellness Foundation was awarded the 2022 Master of the “REACH” award

Two “Breaking Glass Ceilings” awards were also presented to:

• Wendy Moyer-Drabick of Moyer-Drabick and Associates Ltd., for her recognition as the 2020 SBA Eastern PA Woman Owned Small Business of the Year

• April Barkasi of CEDARVILLE Engineering Group LLC, for her recognition as the 2022 SBA Eastern PA Woman Owned Small Business of the Year
