Rutter’s to recognize truck drivers with free meal

YORK — Rutter’s has announced that it will recognize all truck drivers with a free meal from Sept. 11 through Sept. 17, as part of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week.

Truck drivers that have signed up with Rutter’s VIP Rewards are eligible to receive a meal, which will include any sandwich, a regular coffee or fountain beverage, and a regular hashbrown or fry, throughout the week.

The company said Truck Driver Appreciation Week is the “perfect time to honor and thank all of our hard-working drivers who dedicate their life to the road,” according to a press release.

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week was started in 1998 by the American Trucking Associations, as a chance to show appreciation for the 3.6 million truck drivers across the country that “not only deliver our goods safely, securely, and on time, but they also keep our highways safe,” according to the organization’s website.

The offer will be valid for a one-time use for eligible Rutter’s VIP Rewards customers.

Rutter’s is a York-based convenience chain that operates 82 locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia, including three locations in Berks County. For more information about the company, visit

Earlier this week, Sheetz announced it has reduced the price of its diesel fuel to $4.49 through the end of the month, and will offer truck drivers a free meal from Sept. 11 through Sept. 30.
