POTTSTOWN — A business that molds rubber and silicon for medical devices has plans to nearly double the size of its current Queen Street facility in Pottstown.
The expansion of Precision Polymer in the 800 block of Queen Street would also mean the addition of about 50 jobs, according to testimony given to Pottstown Borough Council during an April 6 conditional use hearing.
Currently, the business operates an 8,249-square-foot facility in a brick building located on 1.14 acres between Queen and South streets and the cross streets of Madison and Eden streets.
According to the plan approved unanimously by the council on April 11, the expansion will be 14,750 square feet.
The project will also include additional parking and stormwater, landscaping and lighting improvements, according to Jason Voytilla, who spoke on behalf of the company and who is the property owner.
