Indian Home Minister directs crackdown on Delhi violence

Home Minister Amit Shah has directed the government to take stern action against those involved in the recent violence in Jahangirpuri, Delhi. Referring to the communal violence that rocked Delhi in 2019, a senior Home Ministry official said the Home Minister had explicitly asked them to investigate the matter and instructed them not to make any mistakes.

The Delhi Police Commissioner said on Monday (April 18th) that 23 suspects from both communities have been arrested so far for Saturday’s clashes. At least 14 Delhi Police teams are investigating the case under the Crime Branch.
