Brewery at Ship Inn to likely open within tow months

EXTON — With a settlement date set for Sept. 23, the prospective owners of the Ship Inn expect to open a micro-brewery at the site of the historic inn within the next six or seven weeks.

The sales price was $2,250,000 ($1,800,000 for the real estate and $450,000 for the Chester County R-Type Liquor License).

The buyer is VK Brewing LLC and the two business partners that own and operate VK Brewing LLC are Jason Van Keuren and Najib Abiaad, according to listing agent with KW Commercial Geoffrey Moody. Moody represents seller Michael Person.

VK Brewing LLC is planning to perform slight renovations to the restaurant at 693 E. Lincoln Highway.

The new owners will brew their beer on the property. They will also serve a fully stocked bar with other types of liquor and beer; as well as reinventing the menu to have 12-14 signature dishes.

Bill McGeehan of Continental Realty was the buyer’s agent on this sale for VK Brewing LLC..
