A. Duie Pyle of West Goshen expands business into Virginia

WEST GOSHEN — A. Duie Pyle, a Chester county-based transportation and logistics provider is opening three new facilities — expanding its services into Virginia. The company will be opening three new facilities in Richmond, Roanoke and Manassas, Virginia in April. The move is expected to strengthen routes and the transport of goods, while creating jobs, the company said in a press release.

This strategic move into Virginia provides Pyle, which is headquartered in West Goshen, with the opportunity to offer direct trucking and warehousing services to key points along the Eastern Seaboard supply chain. At the same time it will give the company direct service to and from the ports of Virginia, connecting key metropolitan areas like Washington, D.C., and Baltimore.

“We’re excited to be making such a major investment in bringing our industry-leading expertise into the Commonwealth of Virginia,” John Luciani, COO of LTL Solutions at A. Duie Pyle, said in a statement. “This expansion further enables us to offer exceptional service to our customers, enlarging our footprint to new regions.”

In an emailed response to questions, the company said it had been looking for facilities for a couple of years, and signed agreements for the three Virginia locations at the end of 2021. Renovations on the facilities began in early 2022.

The new locations will add 96 service doors and 75 new jobs across the three locations, which are expected to be fully operational by April 11.

The company said the additional jobs and supply chain support that Pyle is bringing to the area provides a boost to the local economy, while strengthening its service commitment to customers that require overnight and one-day deliveries along the Eastern Seaboard.

Pyle worked closely with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, the City of Manassas, the City of Richmond, the City of Roanoke, the Greater Richmond Partnership and the Roanoke Regional Partnership to complete the project.

“Global supply chains are experiencing unprecedented pressure and we are pleased that A. Duie Pyle will take advantage of Virginia’s infrastructure and transportation network as a vital provider of supply chain solutions,” Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin said in a statement.

Founded in 1924, A. Duie Pyle, is a family-owned and operated business. The company provides a range of integrated transportation and distribution services supported by 27 Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) service centers and 16 warehouses comprised of more than 3.5 million square-feet of space, located throughout the Northeast. A. Duie Pyle currently operates in 11 states in the Northeast including, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
