2,461 cows and bison have been restricted

An aggregate of 2,461 cows and wild oxen were brought through the Shahpari Island Corridor in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar on Thursday infringing upon the boycott. The market worth of these creatures is around 23 crore rupees. A gathering of the District Smuggling Prevention Task Force Committee on Sunday chose to stop the import of cows through the passageway. Creature imports through the hallway have been suspended since Monday.

Be that as it may, Myanmar’s cows loaded fishing boats and wooden boats have been coming into the hall since the previous morning in the midst of the boycott. Till the evening, something like 22 boats and fishing vessels have arrived at 2,461 cows and bison. The creatures were dumped at Shahpari Island Jetty. Individuals from BGB and customs office were available at the spot. Afterward, the public authority gathered Rs 500 for every creature and gave it over to the merchants.

When asked, Teknaf Customs Superintendent Abdun Noor said, “Yesterday, 10-12 merchants brought 2,461 cows and wild oxen.” Against these creatures, the public authority income has been gathered 12 lakh 35 thousand 500 rupees.

Gotten some information about the import of creatures in the shut passage, the traditions official said that as per the choice of the gathering of the District Smuggling Task Force Committee, the import of creatures through the hallway was halted from last Monday. No creatures have been imported through this passageway over the most recent three days. Since countless creatures have shown up, the income must be gathered.

Some creature merchants, who would not like to be named, revealed to Prothom Alo that a couple thousand additional creatures could arrive at the Teknaf passage tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. The creatures are being stacked on boats and fishing vessels in Akiab (Sithuye) and Tongu spaces of Myanmar.

Concerning creatures through the shut hallway, Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer Parvez Chowdhury said a few creatures while heading to import (positioned in fishing vessels in the Bay of Bengal) have come to Shahpari Island Corridor. The Shahpari Island Corridor was dispatched in 2003. Over the most recent four months (March, April, May, June) the public authority has gathered income of 2 crore 22 lakh 16 thousand rupees against the import of 44 thousand 436 creatures. The income for each cow and bison in the hallway is 500 rupees.
